No. The FieldWorks project map is powered by Esri basemaps and works out of the box. You do not need an Esri account or ArcGIS license to drop pins, capture GPS locations, search addresses, or share the map. Linking an ArcGIS account is optional and only needed to overlay your organization's own GIS layers, such as utilities, parcels, and easements.

Yes. Upload a PDF site plan or floor plan and it becomes a Plan view alongside the live map. Every project has interchangeable Map and Plan views, so you can drop pins on the drawing or on the map. Once you georeference the drawing, pins appear in both views and the plan overlays the live map.

Yes. Recipients of a shared dashboard link see the same project map and plan views with every pinned item. No FieldWorks account is needed to view it.

A deficiency list is the ongoing record of items that do not meet contract requirements, found any time during construction, not just near completion. A punch list is usually a narrower list assembled close to substantial performance or completion. FieldWorks Deficiency Tracker logs deficiencies with photos, status, and location as they are found throughout the project, and can export that record whenever a punch-list-style summary is needed.

A submittal is a document, such as a shop drawing or product data sheet, that a contractor sends for review and approval before work proceeds. An RFI, or request for information, is a question raised when the contract documents are unclear or a conflict needs to be resolved. FieldWorks Submittal and RFI Tracker keeps both in one tool: searchable submittal review status and open, answered, or closed RFI threads with an internal days-awaiting-response counter.

Holdback is money withheld from progress payments, commonly required by construction lien legislation, and released later once conditions are met. Rules and percentages vary by jurisdiction, so this is not legal advice: consult your contract and applicable legislation. FieldWorks Job Cost Tracker payment certificates calculate holdback accrual, holdback release drawdowns, amounts less previous certificates, and a generic tax percentage, using the holdback and tax percentages you set in Project Details.

No. Shared dashboards are accessed through a password-protected link, with no FieldWorks account required. What a recipient can do depends on the tool and how the link was scoped: some links are read-only, while others also allow uploads, such as submittals or inspection photos, depending on what the tool supports and what the share link permits.
